Olsztyn

This city is wonderfully located in a region full of lakes and forests. The great Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus lived and worked here. The most fascinating part of the city is the Old Town, surrounded by fortified walls. It is the heart of the social and cultural life in the city, especially in the summertime, when the "Olsztyn Artistic Summer" festival takes place. The main stage is the Czeslaw Niemen Amphitheatre at the foot of the gothic castle.
